Had to pick between a fish tape and a glow rod for a nasty conduit pull

Last Tuesday I was running three 10 AWG THHN wires through a 2 inch EMT that had four 90s and about 60 feet total. My fish tape kept snagging at the second bend, so I grabbed my glow rod from the truck. That thing bent like a wet noodle and I spent 20 minutes wrestling it until my apprentice suggested taping them together. We got it through in one shot, but I swear I heard the conduit groan. Anyone else have a method for stubborn pulls that doesn't involve swearing at the pipe?
