That cheap corner trowel I laughed at actually works for bullnose in my Davenport bathroom

I picked up a off brand corner trowel at a hardware store in Davenport last weekend for 12 bucks, figured it would be garbage but I needed it for a small bullnose job on a bathroom remodel. First pass was shaky, but after I took the time to sand the edges down flat on some 80 grit, it glided way better than I expected. I used it on about 30 linear feet of bullnose and the corners came out sharp, no digging or gouging like my expensive one does on tight radiuses. The handle feels cheap for sure, but it held up through the whole job without bending. What convinced me is the way it fits into inside corner beads, it just sits there without fighting you. Anyone else tried those budget trowels and found one that surprised you?

Sanding the edges makes all the difference.
