That spill in Galveston Bay changed my mind about twin-screw setups
I used to swear by twin-screw dredges for everything, thought they were the only way to handle tricky sediment. Then last July I was working a job in Galveston Bay where we hit a layer of compacted clay that just locked up the port screw completely. We spent 8 hours trying to clear it before swapping to a single-screw with a cutterhead attachment, and it cut through that clay in 45 minutes. Has anyone else found a situation where simpler equipment actually outperformed the fancy stuff?

That Galveston clay is no joke. Sometimes the simple stuff just works better when fancy gear fails.
