That Tuesday in Tulsa where every line I pulled ended up garbage

I was doing a full rewire on an old house off Route 66, and the cable tray layout I drafted for the second floor had the junction boxes spaced 18 inches off from the actual studs. The foreman just pointed at the prints and said 'you measure twice, cut once, but you didn't measure the first time.' Lost a whole afternoon re-running 60 feet of conduit because I trusted the old as-built from 1998 instead of checking the laser level. Has anyone else had a single mistake like that snowball into a full week of catch-up, or is that just my Monday?

Had a 2006 as-built one time that showed a gas line three feet left of where it actually was. Put a framing nail right through the middle of it and the whole block smelled like rotten eggs for an hour. That print got a red stamp that said "TRUST NOTHING" and I still think about it every time I pull a tape.
