My late-night snack run ended with the remote in the freezer

Last night, I was glued to a series and got up for a bite. I was so out of it that I carried the remote to the kitchen without noticing. When I grabbed ice cream from the freezer, I must have set the remote down on a shelf. This morning, I tore the couch apart looking for it until my buddy spotted it next to the frozen veggies. I cracked up, lmao. Do other people pull this kind of stuff when they're sleepy or zoned out? My hands seem to have a mind of their own sometimes. Honestly, maybe I just need to hit the hay earlier.

Ever wonder if you're just extra tired when this happens? I used to tell myself I was just being forgetful, but last month I caught myself putting the milk in the cupboard instead of the fridge. My brain was totally on autopilot. It's like our minds take a shortcut when we're tired and our hands just follow along. Maybe we should both just admit we need more sleep, huh?

@gibson.mila I started putting my keys in the fridge after work, so I feel you. Setting a phone reminder to go to bed earlier actually helped me a lot.

Sleep is clearly not my strong suit. Last week I tried to unlock my front door with my car key fob, just stood there pressing it and wondering why the deadbolt wouldn't chirp. My brain's autopilot is running on fumes most days. You're right, we probably need to just accept the fact that our bodies are screaming for a real night's rest. What's the weirdest place you've almost left something because you were zoned out?
