Hot take: ladders with that top step platform are way better than the plain ones

I was trying to hang string lights in our backyard last weekend and kept wobbling on my old basic ladder. Finally borrowed my neighbor's Werner with the wide platform step and it felt ten times more stable. Does anyone else have a piece of basic gear that just completely outshined the standard version for you?

I used to think sticking with something mediocre was just being practical, you know? Like why rock the boat if it's not completely broken. But then I realized all those years of "fine" actually cost me way more than I thought. It's wild how we convince ourselves that okay is good enough when really we're just scared of the hassle of finding better. Makes you wonder what else we're settling for without even noticing.
