Am I the only one who switched from a paper grocery list to just shouting at my phone in the store?
For about 8 years I kept a little notepad on the fridge and wrote everything down by hand, and I would still walk out of Kroger in Dayton without the one thing I came for. Then back in March my daughter set up a voice memo app on my phone and told me to just say stuff out loud when I run out, so now I yell "we need taco shells and dish soap" into my phone while I'm standing in the kitchen. The weird part is it actually works, because I never remember to write things down but I always remember to talk. Last week I did a whole run at Meijer with just 4 voice clips and got everything on the first try, which has not happened since I can remember. The only problem is my husband keeps hearing me talk to myself and asking who I'm talking to. So now I'm curious, does anyone else do the voice memo thing or am I just the weird lady muttering into her phone by the eggs?
The voice memo thing is smart but the real hack is that you're saying it out loud in the kitchen where you're actually looking at what's missing. Paper list means you have to remember to write it later, which is the part that always fails. Your husband will get used to it, mine stopped asking after like two weeks.
