Wasted $150 on a cheap tile cutter from Harbor Freight

Tbh I thought I was being smart saving money on that $40 tile cutter instead of renting a proper wet saw. It chipped every single tile I tried to cut, had to buy replacements twice. Ended up spending way more in the long run on ruined tile and extra trips to Lowe's. Has anyone else had a cheap tool cost them more than just renting would have?

$150 is annoying but that's just the cost of learning man. Not like you lost your house or something. My buddy bought a cheap angle grinder that threw a disc across his garage and that was way worse than a few chipped tiles.

Yeah I used to be one of those "just get the cheapest one" people too. Thought spending more was a waste. Then I bought a $40 reciprocating saw from Harbor Freight and the blade flew off on the second cut, almost hit my leg. That changed my mind real quick. Now I'm with you on the angle grinder thing, I've heard too many horror stories about cheap discs shattering. Sometimes the $150 lesson is way cheaper than the hospital bill.
