Serious question, peel and stick tile or real grout in my rental kitchen?
My kitchen floor is that old sheet vinyl from the 80s and it finally started peeling up near the sink, so I had to pick between peel and stick tiles at $1.29 a square foot or doing real ceramic with grout. I went with the peel and stick since it's a rental and I didn't want to mess with thinset and a wet saw in a second floor apartment. Laying it took about 5 hours over two evenings, and cutting around the toilet flange and door frame was the worst part. Three weeks in and the tiles near the dishwasher are already lifting a little, which I kind of expected from reviews but hoped wouldn't happen. Has anyone here used a roller or extra adhesive on peel and stick to stop the curling at the edges? I'm wondering if I should have just gone with grout and eaten the cost.
