My grandfather's old level finally bit the dust after 40 years

The bubble vial cracked while I was hanging a shelf in the garage last Saturday, and I had to finish with a digital one that kept glitching, so now I'm wondering if anyone else has had a trusty tool die on them mid-job and had to adapt on the fly?
