Pro tip: I switched from a standard drill to an impact driver for deck screws
I used to fight with my old drill when putting in 3 inch deck screws, it would often stall out or strip the heads. After watching a friend build a shed in half the time, I bought a basic impact driver last fall. The difference is night and day, it drives screws straight in without any cam-out. Has anyone else found a specific tool that saved them a ton of time on a common job?

How did you even get those deck screws in before without throwing the whole drill across the yard? I put off buying an impact driver for years because I thought my regular drill was fine, but it was basically just a fancy way to make a lot of noise and get mad. The first time I used an impact driver it felt like cheating, like I discovered a secret button on life. Now I look for excuses to drive screws just to hear that satisfying brrrrt noise.

Right? @diana238, my old drill just spun and screamed like it was personally offended by the wood. The impact driver actually does the work for once.

It's like finally using the right tool instead of fighting with the wrong one for everything.
