My dad told me he always paints his garage floor with porch paint
We were cleaning out his old workshop in Mesa last weekend and I saw how good his concrete floor looked after 15 years. He said he uses regular porch and floor enamel, not that fancy epoxy stuff. Has anyone else tried this? I'm redoing my own garage next month.

Oh man, your dad is totally right! I did my garage floor with that same porch paint like five years ago and it still looks great, no peeling or anything. Everyone told me I needed the expensive epoxy kit but I just rolled on two coats of the Behr stuff from Home Depot. Saved a ton of money and it cleans up spills so easy, just wipe it up. Your dad knows what's up, lol.

Why mess with what works? That porch paint trick is solid for a basic garage floor. People overthink this stuff way too much.

My garage floor has this one weird patch where I spilled brake fluid like three months after painting it. The paint bubbled up in this sad little circle that looks like a botched science project. Still, for the other 99% of the floor that just deals with dirt and water, that Behr paint has been a total champ. I probably should have read the can about chemical spills.
