Swapped Google Maps for a paper atlas for 2 weeks, here's what broke

I got tired of my location history being sold off to data brokers, so I ditched Google Maps for a paper atlas on my commute across Nashville. First day was rough, missed two turns and showed up 20 mins late to a client meeting. But by day 5 I had the backroads memorized and actually found a shortcut that saves me about 15 mins each way. The downside is construction updates, I hit a closed bridge on day 8 and had to guess a detour through a sketchy part of town. Anyone else tried going analog for a specific app and found a middle ground that keeps some privacy without losing the live traffic data?
