Found a way to stop my phone from listening, and it was in a drawer the whole time
Back in March I kept getting ads for things I only said out loud, like a cat tree I never typed anywhere. I tried the usual stuff, turning off mic access per app and digging through settings, and nothing changed. Then my cousin in Boise told me to just leave the phone in the kitchen drawer when we watch TV in the living room, and the weird ads dropped off within about two weeks. It's a dumb fix that costs nothing, but it does mean I miss calls, so I'm half in and half out on it. Has anyone found a middle ground that doesn't involve basically hiding the phone from your own house?
