Warning: I paid $28 for a travel router in Medellin and it fixed a problem I didn't know I had
My hostel wifi kept dropping during client calls and I blamed the building. A guy at a coworking spot in Laureles mentioned the wifi was fine but the router login page kept kicking devices off, so I bought a cheap travel router for about $28. I set it up in 15 minutes and now my laptop and phone connect to one network name everywhere I stay. Last week the hostel switched networks mid-call and my laptop never noticed. If you're bouncing between Airbnbs and cafes, this thing has paid for itself twice over in avoided apology emails. Has anyone found a router that also handles a wired connection without dragging a second power brick around?
