Satellite internet in a campervan near Taos, and what it did to my workday

Last month I parked outside Taos for a week to try out a Starlink setup a friend loaned me. Setup took 20 minutes but the first full workday was chaos, video calls dropped twice and my upload speed hit 3 Mbps right before a deadline. I realized I'd been treating connectivity like a given after 2 years of city cafes and coworking spots. Has anyone else had to build a backup plan for remote work when the scenery gets too good to resist?

Dread the thought of losing a call right when it matters most. Tbh I feel you, I spent a month in a van near Moab last fall and my backup was a cheap hotspot plus a timer. I'd do all my heavy uploads before 7am or after sunset when the network was calmer, and I kept a list of coffee shops in towns within an hour drive just in case. It's wild how fast you go from "this is fine" to scrambling with a dead connection and a client waiting on files.
