I finally booked a one-way to Lisbon 3 years ago and just now noticed what changed
Three years ago this month I landed in Lisbon with two bags and a laptop, and last week I was back in the same cafe in Alfama where I first tried to work on a bad wifi connection with a cold espresso. What got me was that I wasn't even checking the wifi speed anymore, I just plugged in and got going like it was my own kitchen table. The work part got easy way before my head did, to be honest. Now I catch myself wondering if I've gotten too comfortable and stopped really exploring the places I stay. Has that happened to anyone else after a few years of this, where the travel starts to feel like just normal life?
