My old art teacher said to stop zooming in past 200% when shading, and I finally tested it
She said it back in 2019 during a figure drawing class in Duluth and I ignored her for five years, but after flattening two portraits by over-rendering every pore at 800% zoom I switched to a 150% cap and my skin tones instantly looked more painterly, so now I'm curious if anyone else has a zoom limit they swear by or if you just eyeball it.
