TIL the torque spec on the injector hold-down for a 6.7 Cummins is way lower than I thought after my second one started clicking at idle
I kept going by feel (you know, the old ugga-dugga method) until I finally looked it up at 18 ft-lbs and now I'm wondering how many other bolts I've been over-tightening on these older motors, has anyone else actually snapped one of those little bolts before?

Been there myself, that sinking feeling when you realize you've been torquing by the "calibrated elbow" method on critical stuff. Hope you didn't tweak the threads too bad.

oh man my buddy brian legit did this on his project truck last summer. stripped out three of the bellhousing bolts before he realized his "feel" was way off. had to helicoil the whole thing and it took him like a whole weekend to fix it. worst part is he kept saying "i've been doing this for years" while we drilled out the old threads. sometimes you just gotta accept that your arm is not a torque wrench lol.
