Ten years of swapping injection pumps and I still hate doing it blind

Used to just feel my way around the back of a 6.7 Powerstroke injector pump with my fingers and hope the bolts lined up. After 3 failed attempts in one afternoon last June on a 2010 F-250, I finally caved and bought a cheap borescope from Harbor Freight for 40 bucks. Now I can actually see the bolt holes and the alignment marks without pulling the whole intake manifold off. Only took me a decade to learn this lesson lol. Anyone else got a tool they resisted buying for way too long?

Did you find the borescope actually let you clock that pump right on the first try after years of guessing by touch? I'm curious if having that visual confirmation cut down on the cussing or if it just made you mad seeing how close you were to lining it up blind all those years lol. Might finally make me pull the trigger on one for those back-of-engine jobs where I'm doing everything by braille.

Man that borescope is a game changer @the_jake, I used to do the same blind crap on a 6.7 and now I can see exactly where my fat fingers are missing. I picked up one from Amazon for thirty bucks and it paid for itself in one job.
