Finally got that 7.3 Powerstroke injector tick gone after 2 weeks of fiddling

Bought an old F-250 from a guy outside Austin last month, and it had this light tick at idle that drove me nuts. Changed out the oil rail crossover seals last Saturday and it purrs like a kitten now. Anyone else had luck silencing these old 7.3s with just seals, not full injectors?

Those oil rail crossover seals are a common fix on the 7.3s, but they mainly stop external leaks and rough idle from air in the oil. The tick you're hearing is usually the injector itself or maybe a worn out injector hold-down clamp, not just the seal. I'd still keep an eye on it if the tick comes back, since that means the injector solenoid or o-rings might be the real problem.

Wait, people actually tear those apart just for a tick?

Man, people will tear into anything if YouTube tells them it's a magic fix. (I blame the algorithm for a lot of this stuff honestly.) Seen guys pull their whole turbo pedestal off just to clean a couple drops of oil off the valley pan, then wonder why their truck runs worse. That tick is usually just the injector breathing heavy, not a sign the whole motor is about to grenade. But hey, if you want to spend a Saturday pulling the fuel bowl apart for a noise that'll probably come back in 500 miles, be my guest. Otherwise just turn up the radio and save your knuckles.
