Just realized the city's small business license help desk saved my cousin $400
I always figured those Detroit commercial services offices were just red tape, but my cousin got her food truck permits sorted there for way less than the $600 a private service quoted her. They walked her through the whole thing in one visit downtown. Anyone else use the city's help desk for permits, or am I missing some catch?
Did you check if she needs an appointment first? I went down there last year for a sign permit and got turned away because they only take walk-ins certain mornings (which was annoying but still beat paying a service). The catch is mostly just the wait, but yeah the savings are real.
