Two summers back my cousin kept telling me to look into commercial pressure washing for the building his boss owns over on Gratiot, and I rolled my eyes hard. I figured it was one of those upsell words like "premium detailing" where a guy shows up with the same hardware you can rent at a big box store and charges triple. Then I actually stood there and watched it happen. The crew showed up with a trailer rig running hot water at something like 200 degrees and 3,500 psi, and there was a guy on a ladder with a surface cleaner attachment who did the whole front wall in maybe 90 minutes. What sold me was the gum. There was probably 15 years of black gum spots baked into that sidewalk, plus old grease streaks from when it was a diner, and every bit of it came up like it was never there. The owner paid around $1,800 for the whole property, which sounded crazy to me until I saw the before and after. Now I wonder how many buildings around here just eat that cost forever and call it "character." Has anyone here hired a commercial washing crew, and did the price ever feel worth it to you?
