Can we talk about how I used to hand scrub grease traps like an animal

Back in my old bar gig I'd spend 2 hours every Sunday wrestling with a scrub brush and a bucket of degreaser on the trap behind the sink. Now I just pay a Detroit commercial service 80 bucks to pump and clean it in 15 minutes, and they even haul the gunk away. Has anyone else switched from doing it yourself to just letting a pro handle the gross stuff?

Switched my brewpub over to a local service last year after I pulled a muscle trying to scrape a trap alone at 1 AM. The pro guys show up with a vacuum truck and have it done before my morning delivery arrives. I still do the monthly degreaser tablet drop myself, but letting them handle the deep clean saves me a whole Sunday and a lot of back pain.

@the_alice my buddy tried that and ended up with a grease waterfall in his parking lot at 2am.
