Hot take: my mechanic in Dayton saved me $340 by telling me NOT to fix something
I brought my car in for a weird rattle and he said it was just a heat shield, not the transmission I was sure was dying, and he charged me nothing for the look. That one conversation made me stop trusting every shop that hands me a "safety inspection" list. Does anyone else have a mechanic story like this or am I just lucky?
