The self-checkout at my grocery store in Dayton now asks me to scan my receipt before the doors open and it takes 40 seconds every time
I shop at the same Kroger on Wilmington Pike twice a week and about a month ago they put in these gate things that won't let you leave until you scan your receipt. The scanner never reads the barcode on the first try, so I stand there swiping this crumpled paper while a line builds up behind me. What gets me is the guy watching the self-checkout area just stands there on his phone instead of checking receipts like they used to. I timed it Thursday and it added 40 seconds to my trip, which is dumb but it's every single trip now. Does anyone else's store do this, or is it just a Ohio thing?
