Rant: My phone flashlight has been on the wrong setting for 2 years and a kid in a library caught it

I always use my phone flashlight for looking under cars and in dark engine bays. Thought the dim beam was just how it was. So last week I'm at the public library waiting for my print job and this kid, maybe 10, walks over and says 'your flashlight is on low beam, hold the button.' I tap it and it goes to the bright mode. I've been squinting at bolts in the dark for 2 years for no reason. Has anyone else had a random stranger point out an obvious phone feature you somehow missed?
