DAE find out a company keeps a secret score on you and won't show it?
I called my internet provider last week to ask why my bill jumped $22 and the rep told me I had a 'loyalty rating' that decides what deals I get. I asked what mine was and she said she couldn't tell me, but that it drops if you call too often. I've been with them 4 years and called twice, so that felt off. Then I googled it and found out a bunch of companies do this, some even use an outside company to score you. Has anyone here ever gotten a rep to actually admit what their score is, or got them to bump it back up?
I get why this bugs you but I have to disagree that it's automatically shady. My sister worked at a phone company for 6 years and she said the score is really just a way to sort out who gets the best offers without giving them to people who bounce between carriers every few months. Calling twice in 4 years would not tank you, so the rep either read the screen wrong or you got a newer one who didn't know the system. Next time ask for the retention team instead, they can actually see the deals and hand them out.
