Shoutout to the writing group in Tulsa that wrecked my prompts for good
I used to write prompts like 'a lonely lighthouse keeper finds a message in a bottle' and pat myself on the back. Then I joined a Wednesday night group at a coffee shop on 15th Street and a guy named Darnell read mine out loud and asked one question: whose bottle is it and why now? Dead silence from 9 people and I wanted to crawl under the table. Now I write 3 dumb specifics into every prompt before I let anyone see it, and honestly they land way better. What's the one question that forces you to dig deeper on a prompt?
