Found a writing trick in an old notebook from 3 years ago

Last week I dug out a beat-up notebook from 2019 with random prompts I never finished, and one line about a guy who fixes roofs in a town where it never rains gave me a whole story in 20 minutes, has anyone else mined old ideas that felt dead at the time?
