A client's one comment made me redo my entire balayage process

Last month this lady in Portland said my highlights looked 'striped like a zebra' and I laughed it off, but then I grabbed a mirror and yeah, she had a point lmao. I switched from foils to open-air painting on fine sections and now I check each strand against natural light before moving on, anyone else get humbled like that and change their whole technique?
