The $28 jar of fancy salt that ruined cheap chips for me

Bought a smoked sea salt at a farmers market in Portland last month on a whim, figured it was a splurge but whatever. Sprinkled it on plain potato chips and now regular salt tastes like nothing, my whole snack budget is in danger. Anyone else got a pricey ingredient that wrecked their cheap snack game?

Ha! Yeah, I accidentally did this to myself with fancy olive oil. I got a little bottle of this herb infused stuff and drizzled it on popcorn one night. Now regular buttered popcorn just tastes like cardboard to me. I had to start rationing it to special movie nights because my weekly popcorn habit was turning into a gourmet event. Honestly though, I just accepted the damage and now I budget for the good stuff, it's cheaper than therapy I guess.
