Just realized my old laser level was way off after trying a rotary level on a slab pour
I was marking footings with my old $60 laser and kept getting this weird slope on the layout. Borrowed a buddy's rotary level for a 4-hour job and it lined up perfect first try, no leveling rod needed. Anyone else have an old tool that was secretly sabotaging their work?

That cheap laser probably had a bubble vial that was barely accurate to begin with. Once you use a rotary that self-levels, there's no going back to guessing if your lines are straight.

Once you use a rotary that self-levels, there's no going back" really sums up something I've noticed in life. Once you try a tool or a method that takes the guesswork out of a hard task, everything else feels frustratingly clunky. It's like going from a dull knife to a sharp one - you never realize how much extra work you were doing until you don't have to do it anymore.
