Visited the old mill site near my hometown last weekend and the overgrown foundation is completely different from what I remember from exploring it as a kid in 97.

The graffiti tags are new and someone welded a weird metal grate over the main entrance that wasn't there before, anyone know who owns that land now or what's going on with it?

Wait did you see that post in the local history group on Facebook? Someone was talking about how the old mill got bought up by some out of town developer like two years back. They said the town council approved a zoning change for it but never really said what was going in there. That welded grate thing is creepy though. I drove past that spot about a month ago and noticed the whole area had those no trespassing signs with some lawyer firm's name on them.

Read something on Nextdoor a few weeks back, someone claimed they saw surveyors out there with some kinda fancy equipment at like 2 in the morning. Figured it was just some drunk guy posting nonsense, but now with those lawyer signs and the welded grate, it sounds like whoever bought it is really trying to keep people out. Makes you wonder if they got some special permission from the town to do whatever they want down there.
