That week in 2011 when every light in the neighborhood flickered at 3am

I still remember it clear as day. Tuesday night, power went out for maybe 10 seconds, then came back. Wednesday, same thing. Thursday, same thing. By Friday my neighbor Dave was convinced it was the government testing something. He had his whole theory about HAARP and weather control. Saturday I actually stayed up to watch the streetlights. At 3:17am they all dimmed together, like someone turned a dimmer switch down and back up. Then nothing. I checked with the utility company later, they said it was a faulty capacitor at the substation off Route 9. But the thing is, Dave had a point about the pattern. Three nights in a row, same time, same flicker. Has anyone else ever seen something like that where the timing was just too perfect to be a coincidence?

My buddy Marcus had something similar in 2016 in Ohio. He lived near an old train crossing and for like five straight nights his garage light kept pulsing at 2:43am, same exact minute. He set up his phone camera on the fourth night just to prove it to his wife, and sure enough you could see the light dip and surge. He called the power company and they sent a guy out who found a frayed neutral wire on the pole behind his house, said it was rubbing against a metal bracket when the wind picked up at night. But Marcus still swears the timing was too exact, because the wind never blows at 2:43 on the dot every night. He moved out a year later, partly because of that, and says the new owners never mentioned it, so who knows. The power company explanation was probably right, but it still creeps me out when I remember him showing me that video.
