Used to float every slab with a magnesium float, switched to a bull float 3 months ago and it cut my time in half
Honestly I fought the switch for a while because I thought I could feel the cream better with the mag, but on a 40x60 garage pour in Amarillo the bull float let me get the whole thing flat before it set up. Now I only grab the mag for edges and small stuff. Anybody else notice the finish gets tighter when you do the first pass wetter than you want to?

Funny thing, that same idea shows up everywhere. My grandpa used to say you buy the cheap tool first, learn the job with it, then upgrade once you know what you are doing. Three months in and you are probably still getting a feel for the bull float, so the finish will only get better from here.
