The county spec sheet said 4,000 psi but the test cylinder came back at 6,200, blew my whole flatwork plan up last Friday

Found out from the ready mix plant that the local batch plant had been over-cementing every load for 3 months to cover a bad aggregate source, so my 6 inch slab is now acting like 8 inch and I have to redo my control joints, has anyone else had a batch plant quietly boost the mix on them?

Hold on, that over-cementing actually sounds like the batch plant did you a solid, even if they messed up the timeline. Tbh, I'd rather have a slab that's stronger than spec than get one that crumbles and have to tear it all out. Sure, the control joints are a pain now, but that's a easy fix compared to a warranty claim down the road.
