The broom handle trick that saved my slab last Tuesday

We had a 12 yard pour for a patio in Tacoma and the finisher bailed last minute. I was short handed and the sun was cooking the surface fast. I grabbed a 6 foot broom handle and taped a bull float to the end of it. Worked way better than I expected, got the whole slab leveled before it set up. Anyone else ever rig something weird together when a crew member no-shows?

Bull float taped to a broom handle? That thing had to be bouncing like crazy.
