Last month in Austin, I was finishing a driveway and this older guy just stood at his fence line, quiet, watching me bull float the whole time. After I was done he said, 'You're fighting the concrete, son, let it tell you when it's ready,' and walked back inside. I realized I'd been rushing my timing for years because I was scared of losing the light, so has anyone else gotten a better tip from a random bystander than from any training video or seminar?
