Changed my mind about power trowels after a rough Tuesday in July

I used to think a walk behind was fine for most garage floors, but this one 24x24 pour in 95 degree heat proved me wrong. The mix started setting up way faster than we planned, and my old machine just couldn't keep up. My buddy brought over his ride on trowel for the last pass, and we saved the finish in about 20 minutes flat. Now I'm looking at used ride ons online, even for smaller jobs. Anyone have a lead on a decent older model that won't break the bank?

Oh man, that heat is no joke. My uncle tried to pour a small patio slab by himself in weather like that... let's just say it's now a very interesting abstract art piece.

Yikes, that sounds brutal. So when your buddy showed up with the ride on, was it just about speed, or did it actually handle the hard set better? Like, could it put more weight down to really close up that surface without tearing?
