Blew $260 on a magnesium float, went back to my old wood one after two pours
Everyone on the crew kept telling me to switch to a mag float for finishing, so I dropped $260 on one and gave it a real shot. After two slabs my shoulders were shot and I was fighting the thing the whole time, meanwhile my $40 wood float from 2011 still lays it down smoother for how I work. The old guy who trained me told me once that the tool doesn't finish the concrete, your hands do, and I should've listened. Anybody else go back to wood after trying mag, or did I just never get the hang of it?
