Tried leaving 10 minutes earlier for the bus and learned a weird lesson

So I usually catch the 7:45 bus downtown and it's always packed standing room only. Last week I decided to try the 7:35 bus just to see if it was less crowded. I figured 10 minutes earlier would make a huge difference right? Wrong. That bus was somehow even more full because it picks up from the high school stop and all the students ride it. The later bus actually has more space after they get off at their school. Now I stick with my regular bus and just stand for the first few stops. Has anyone else found that leaving earlier actually makes your commute worse?

Didnt some study say earlier commutes are actually worse because of school schedules?

Funny how everything connects back to the same root problem. Schools start early, jobs start early, daycares open early, and we all pretend this works fine even though we're all running on no sleep. The real issue is these schedules were designed for a world where one parent stayed home. Now everybody's commuting at the same time, drop off at the same time, and then traffic just compounds into this mess nobody planned for. It's like we built the whole system around factory shifts from 50 years ago and just refuse to update it.
