That old-timer on the 7 bus made me reconsider my whole route
Last Tuesday I was on the 7 bus heading downtown and this older guy, maybe 70, starts chatting about how he's taken that same line for 40 years. He said he never brings a book or headphones because he just watches the neighborhoods change, blocks at a time. I've been grumbling about the 45 minute ride for months, but hearing him describe the little bakeries and repair shops he's seen open and close, it hit different. Has anyone else found that just paying attention to the ride itself beats all the podcasts and games you use to fill it?
