Ran into a retired bus driver who changed my view on crowded buses
I was complaining to this guy at the coffee shop about the 7am crush on the 44 route in Portland, and he just said 'you're not stuck in traffic, you are traffic' - made me realize I'm part of the problem too. Has anyone else had a stranger flip your whole commute mindset?

My buddy Dave had a similar thing happen on the 72 line last winter. Some old guy next to him pointed out that everyone complaining about the bus being late is also complaining about it being too crowded, which basically means we all want different things. Dave said it totally changed how he looks at rush hour now.
