My worst commute ever happened on a Tuesday morning in August

My bus broke down on the highway 3 miles from my exit and I sat there for an extra 45 minutes with no AC. The driver tried to call for backup but the radio wasn't working. Anyone else have a commute where everything just went wrong at once?

Jumped in my car one morning and the alternator gave out halfway down the interstate. Lost power steering right as I was merging into traffic. Had to wrestle the wheel to the shoulder and wait an hour for a tow truck. By the time I got it sorted I was three hours late and still had to finish the drive in a rental.

I mean, "three hours late" sounds rough, but honestly it could have been way worse. Losing power steering on the interstate is scary, sure, but at least you made it to the shoulder without hitting anything or anyone. I get that it was a hassle, but having to wait a tow and grab a rental (even with the extra time) beats the heck out of a crash or being stranded somewhere remote.
