My bus got rerouted 6 blocks off course and I still made my 7:15 shift
Last Tuesday the 42 route driver took a detour near 5th and Main because of a water main break, and we ended up 6 blocks past my normal stop with 12 minutes to spare. I hopped off, jogged two blocks, and caught the crosstown bus that drops me right by the warehouse gate. Walked in at 7:12, three minutes early, and my supervisor didn't even notice I took a different way. I've been riding that route for 8 months and never thought about the backup bus as a real option before. Anyone else have a second route that saved them when their main one went sideways?
