I thought the bus tracker app was just a gimmick back in 2012
I remember standing at my stop for 20 minutes in the rain, sure the app was just guessing. Then I started using it for the 5:30 PM route home from downtown. Seeing the little bus icon move on the map and getting the '2 minutes away' alert that was actually right changed my mind. It saved me so much time waiting outside in the cold. Now I can't imagine my commute without it. Anyone else have a tech thing for their trip they were wrong about at first?

The bus tracker was a game changer for me too. I was wrong to think it was just a gimmick, but I guess the tech needed a few years to get really good. It made waiting in bad weather a thing of the past.

Honestly I miss the old way sometimes. You used to just show up and talk to people at the stop, make a little plan B if it was late. Now everyone's head is down staring at a screen, and half the time the tracker is wrong anyway. I've been burned waiting inside because it said "2 minutes" for ten minutes straight. It just traded one kind of stress for another.

Yeah, the wrong info is worse than no info at all.
