The difference in visibility after switching to a full face mask was insane.

I was using a half mask for 2 years in the harbor near Baltimore, figured it was fine. Switched to a full face last month and I can actually see what I'm doing in murky water. Any of you guys make the switch and notice a big difference?

That full face mask also changes how you breathe though... less resistance on the inhale means you're not sucking air as hard and your bottom time can actually feel longer. I noticed my air consumption dropped a bit once I stopped fighting the half mask seal issues in choppy surface conditions. Plus no more fogging up from my breath hitting the cold glass, that alone was worth the switch for me.

Wait, you did two years on a half mask in Baltimore harbor? That water's like chocolate milk with chunks in it, man. I bet you were basically swimming blind hoping you didn't grab a crab or get tangled in a line. A full face is a whole different world down there, you can actually pick out the bottom and see your hands working. I'm almost pissed I didn't make the switch sooner myself.

Honestly, I gotta push back a little. Tbh, that half mask taught me to rely on feel and instinct, and now I can work a wreck just as blindfolded as in clear water. Ngl, the full face is nice for comfort, but I think you lose some of that gritty connection to the bottom.
