I was using the wrong mix for my hot water suit for years until a job in Seattle
We were working a long shift in Puget Sound and my suit kept cutting out. The lead diver, Mike, asked what my glycol ratio was and I said 50/50 like I always did. He pointed out that below 40 degrees, you need at least 60% glycol to keep it from gelling up. I had been fighting cold spots for no reason. Anyone else have a simple fix they missed for way too long?

Wait, does that ratio change with depth too?

Man, that Seattle gig sounds rough. @hernandez.brooke probably has it dialed in with her flow rates and all that, but I didn't even know glycol could gel up. I spent a whole season in Alaska using 50/50 mix and wondering why my toes went numb every dive. Found out from a guy named Chuck at a dockside bar that I needed 70% for the cold water we were in, felt like an idiot.
