Explaining my old dive suit to my grandson felt like history class
My grandson saw my worn out commercial diving suit in the attic. He could not believe we worked in such heavy gear, and it hit me how tools have improved. Have you had similar talks with younger family members about how diving was back then?

Totally get that. Showing my niece my old regulator was like revealing some ancient, clunky artifact to her.

Showing my nephew the old brass helmet made him think we were underwater astronauts.

That bit about the "ancient, clunky artifact" from sage212 really nails it. When you talked to your grandson, was there one part, like the weight or how little you could move, that seemed to totally blow his mind compared to today's gear?
